The goal of our internship program is to give students hands on experience in each specialized department in their area of study or interest. Interns are paired with experienced Designs By Sundown associates/mentors, who guide and educate them throughout the internship process.

Internships are an excellent opportunity to study how Designs By Sundown creates and maintains award winning landscape projects. Designs by Sundown’s diverse portfolio of landscape projects allows for many unique opportunities for a motivated individual.  Designs by Sundown is excited to continue our commitment to the education of college and university students while also looking to grow an industry leading team of professionals.

Rotating Internship Program

Schedule – Most of our internships begin in the middle of May and continue through the beginning of August, totaling on average a 12-week period.  Candidates can select a single internship track to focus on or combine multiple areas of interest for a customized learning experience. We offer the following rotating internship programs, which allows exposure to each of the specialized departments shown below:

• Landscape Design/Sales
• Landscape Construction
• Landscape Maintenance
• Landscape Specialty Services (Irrigation, Landscape Lighting, Plant Healthcare, and Pool, Spa, or Water Feature)

Compensation – Paid Internship. Designs by Sundown offers a paid internship with the pay rate dependent on experience level. Designs by Sundown also offers additional compensation for any overtime hours that exceed a 40-hour work week.
